Disu wants muted celebrations

Former national team coach, Tunde Disu has charged Super Eagles to avoid excessive goal celebration against the Rwandans.

Eagles have a win-or-burst 2013 Afcon qualifying match against the Amavubi of Rwanda on Saturday at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

The first fixture in Kigali ended barren draw.

Disu told SuperSport.com that Eagles cannot afford a repeat of the mistake in Blantyre, Malawi in the Afcon game against the East African foes.

"Of course in football mistakes are bound to happen but it shouldn't be recurring in every game.

"Team scores goal, players celebrate but not to the extent of forgetting to cover up the backline.

"Pressure comes with each goal and a good team must be alert and try as much as possible to defend the goal at least in the first five minutes.

"Avoid conceding corner kicks, employ delay tactics, knock the ball around, have ball possession and occasionally take a counter attack for more goals.

"I advise that they must cut down drastically the urge to over celebrate, nothing that happened against Malawi be allowed to repeat itself."

Disu is however upbeat that Eagles will overcome the Rwanda's hurdle.

"Coach Keshi must have known the low and high of the Rwanda, few of their dangerous players after the first encounter in Kigali the same as his opposite.

"He should build his team on the experiences and come up with a tactics that will undo the visitors.

"Rwanda can be stubborn back in their home not here in Nigeria, I don't see us lose to them on Saturday.

"Keshi must work on set pieces and charge his wards to take their chances at goal.

"I think the 1-1 draw against Malawi in Blantyre is a morale booster going into this game," he said.
