Nigeria’s Super Eagles maintained her 58th position in the latest FIFA rankings released this morning with the highlight being England hitting their highest ever position in 3rd and Brazil down at their lowest ever in 13th.

England played no official match in the month reviewed (July) but still took third spot from South American champions Uruguay due to the Copa America being devalued sort of.

As a result, some points gained by countries that participated in last year’s Copa America was deducted. Thatdeduction saw Uruguay drop one place to fourth and Brazil two places down to 13th.

Cote D’Ivoire remains Africa’s top ranked nation and sole representative in the world’s top 20 nations at 16th. The Ivorians are followed by Ghana (32), Algeria (34), Libya (38), Mali (39) and Egypt (40).

Spain remains the world’s best footballing nation followed by Germany. Fifth to 10th remain unchanged from last month with Portugal, Italy, Argentina, Netherlands, Croatia and Denmark maintaining their positions in that order.
