British number two Laura Robson returned to winning ways on Tuesday with a one-sided straight-sets win over Estrella Cabeza Candela in the Family Circle Cup in Charleston.
Robson, along with American veteran Lisa Raymond, suffered doubles heartache in final of the WTA Sony Open in Miami on Sunday.
Robson, the world number 42 and seeded 16th for this green-clay event, was never seriously challenged by her Spanish opponent as she posted a 6-2 6-2 win in 74 minutes.
The British number two was successful with five of 11 break point chances against the world number 108 and now faces Canadian qualifier Eugenie Bouchard in the next round.
Elsewhere, Serena Williams, who beat Maria Sharapova to win the Sony Open, served nine aces in her 6-2 6-3 success over Italy's Camila Giorgi.
