We’ll Compensate Nigerians with a Bronze, says Obuh

Flying Eagles chief coach, John Obuh has sworn that his team cannot afford to lose two matches in quick succession, particularly, as the Flying Eagles will be battling for the bronze medal today with Mali, the team that first handed them a 1-0 defeat in Group B ‘s opening match.

We’ll Compensate Nigerians with a Bronze, says Obuh

Asked if the match was a must win, considering the low morale in camp, Obuh cuts in,”yes it is a must win match. It is a match we want to use to wipe the tears in the eyes of Nigerians.

As for my players, it is an opportunity for them to redeem themselves against Mali and reassert themselve as a force to be reckoned with in the continent. They cannot afford to lose to Mali twice.” Obuh said he would charge his players to go all out for revenge against their West African neighbours.

‘’The Malians came with determination to avenge what the disgrace the Super Eagles handed their national team in South Africa. That informed the kind of determination that saw them dent our image. I want to see my boys go into today’s match with that kind of determination and pay them back in their own coins,” Obuh said.

He said the Eagles must have learnt a bitter lesson from their last match against Egypt. ‘’We beat Egypt before and they came back for a revenge mission which they achieved. This is our chance against Mali and they can’t escape it.” He said the Eagles must have learnt a bitter lesson from their last match against Egypt.
