Dundee have parted company with manager Barry Smith with immediate effect.
Despite finishing second in the Scottish First Division in 2011/12, Dundee were admitted to the Scottish Premier League following the liquidation of Rangers.
And the side now sit bottom of the table with Smith, who was appointed boss in 2010, picking up just 14 points from 26 top-flight matches.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Dundee FC today announced that they have parted company with Manager Barry Smith with immediate effect.
"Until matters regarding this have been formally concluded, no further statement will be made."
Smith's future was surrounded by speculation in January but the Dundee board publicly backed the 39-year-old in the hope he could improve the fortunes of the side.
But with the side having won no games since the turn of the year, Smith now leaves the club, who are currently 12 games without a win.
