Ikazoboh demands revival of YSFON

In a passionate statement to Naij.com, Baba Ikazoboh has appealed to football icons like JayJay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, and even Eagles Manager Steven Keshi, to use 2013 as the year in which to mount pressure on the Nigerian Football authorities to salvage youth football across the nation.

Baba Ikazoboh is the son of the Former Sports Minister, Air Commodore Anthony Ikazoboh who was slain in his Victoria Island residence, some years back.

In his message, he said, "the gestation period is usually between 8 and 10yrs for the reward of such an investment to be reaped at the senior level, and the country has not made this investment in any sustainable way since the mid-80's."

He commended the current crop of Eagles for having shone through even against such a backdrop of poor investment in youth structure, and he went ahead to predict that it is this resilient Nigerian spirit within each of them, that will give them victory against the star-studded Ivorian team this Sunday.
