Chelsea handler Antonio Conte has finally explained the rationale behind his decision for him to have left out Nigerian international Victor Moses out of their game against Manchester City.

Many Chelsea fans were not happy with how Chelsea were defeated at home in the tough Premier League game with some claiming that Victor Moses would have helped the Blues.

Antonio Conte has now stated clearly that Victor Moses was tired and he needed to rest the Super Eagles star to prevent him from burning out.

“To play three games in seven days is not simple, above all for our wing-backs.

“Moses played two whole games against Stoke City and Atletico, Marcos Alonso played one and a half games because against Stoke I changed him after 10 minutes.

“Then you have to try not to put your players in difficulty, and not to risk this type of player because Moses for us is an important player and to play three games in only seven days, it means that you are risking him.” the Italian tactician explained.

Victor Moses is expected to be at the national team camp in preparation for the Super Eagles' 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo on Saturday, October 7.
