- He has completed a move to top Iranian club Paykan FC
- Bassey move to Barcelona from Nigerian club Enyimba
Nigerian international Ezekiel Bassey has explained that he has no regrets leaving Spanish giants Barcelona for a move to Iranian club Paykan FC.
Ezekiel Bassey's move to Barcelona was well celebrated among many Nigerian fans when the attacker made the switch from former Nigerian champions Enyimba.
Unfortunately, the former Akwa United star was unable to feature in any game for Barcelona during his loan stay in Spain, a situation which forced him out of the club.
Many football pundits have been attacking Bassey after he completed a move to Iranian club Paykan FC with some believing that joining the club was not the best option for his career.
The 20-year-old forward has now responded claiming that he is happy with his move to Iran and stressed that he would make a return to Europe.
“I have no regrets moving to Iran, I was in Spain for a period of time, and I have to move on with my career.
“Life is going on well with me. Everything is okay with me and I was received well when I got here. As a young player, I will keep doing my best and soon, I will return to the heart of Europe to continue with my career.
“I try to learn everywhere I go and being with Barcelona was a big experience for me.” he explained.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported of how Ezekiel Bassey made a move from Enyimba to Barcelona earlier this year before he left the Spanish club in September 2017.
