- Coach Hugo Broos of Cameroon has acknowledged his team has lost the World Cup ticket to Nigeria

- Broos says he doesn't think Nigeria can lose all their remaining three games

- He says the Super Eagles were the better side after an emphatic 4-0 win over his side

Cameroon’s coach Hugo Broos has written off his team’s chances of clinching the Russia 2018 World Cup ticket in Group B after a huge 4-0 defeat to Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio stadium.

According to him, his team stand no chance to make it to Russia, adding that his boys will only play for pride in the return leg against Nigeria in Yaoundé on Monday September 1.

Speaking to newsmen after the heavy defeat to Nigeria, Broos said: “I can say the best team won today. It is a nice victory for Nigeria.”

When asked if he is under pressure following the defeat, he had this to say: “There is no pressure, Nigeria has 9 points, we have 2 points. So there is no pressure but there is something like honour. We have to fight on Monday. Even if there is nothing at stake, but still we have to fight to beat Nigeria.

“We have to win our remaining three games and hope Nigeria lose all their three games for us to qualify for the World cup but I don’t think that will happen.”

Nigeria took one step closer to the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 4 - 0 win over Cameroon in their qualifier played on Friday September 1.

Goals from Odion Ighalo, John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho ensured that the Super Eagles record an emphatic 4-0 victory over their West African rivals.

Nigeria top Group B with nine points after three games with Cameroon in second place with two points.
