- Chelsea want to sign Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater
- They have been told the price they will pay to get the Englishman
- Antonio Conte wants him to be an addition to his midfielders this term
Former Premier League champions Leicester City have reportedly told reigning champions Chelsea to pay whopping sum of £40m to land midfield star Danny Drinkwater.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is desperate to strengthen his squad before the close of the transfer window following their loss in their first game of the season to Burnley.
According to the report, Chelsea have had their initial bid of £15m rejected by Leicester City and the Blues' gaffer Antonio Conte has told the club to meet the demand of City.
With former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas suspended, Tiemoue Bakayoko injured and Nemanja Vidic sold to Manchester United, Conte urgently needs midfield reinforcements.
But Chelsea know that with the transfer window set to shut in two weeks, selling clubs can demand higher prices.
