Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has described his five match ban as an act of persecution.
This comes even as the Portuguese said his ban is "exaggerated and ridiculous".
The current world best player made his statement known in an explosive Instagram post on Wednesday August 16.
He said: "Impossible to be immune to this situation, 5 games !! It seems to me exaggerated and ridiculous, this calls persecution! Thanks to my teammates for the support and the fans."

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is set to miss the Spanish Super Cup second leg against Barcelona after the RFEF turned down Real Madrid's attempt to overturn his five-game ban.
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Ronaldo was shown a second yellow card and subsequently a red card in Madrid's 3 - 1 first-leg win at the Camp Nou on Sunday, August 13.
After he was sent off, Ronaldo pushed the Referee and he was punished with a four game ban including one for his red card.
