Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Manchester United are in talks over a possible new deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Red Devils boss said in his pre-match press conference that the Swede will not play anytime soon but will return in January.
“You know he’s injured, he needs time to recover, he’s not ready to play tomorrow," Mourinho said when asked how soon Ibra could return to the first team.
“It’s not something urgent, that we are desperate to have it done or not done."
The 35-year-old was released at the end of the season after he suffered a season ending knee injury while playing for United in April.
The Swede is currently in Manchester working on his rehabilitation with an aim to be fit again by January.
