Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will be out of Arsenal's opening Premier league fixture against Leicester City on Friday, August 11, 2017.

The Gunners boss said in a press conference that the Chilean international has an abdominal strain and could be out for one or two weeks.

The French manager confirmed that Sanchez will also miss Arsenal's next league fixture against Stoke.

The 67-year also admitted that the Arsenal are trying to extend Sanchez's contract as his deal with the club is set to expire at the end of the season.
