- Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is on the verge of joining Arsenal
- The Club's president Jean Michel confirmed the deal
- He is expected to help Arsenal's front-line next season
Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly set to sign Lyon and French striker Alexandre Lacazette for a club record fee of £44 million.
According to the report, Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger is said to be interested in the petite forward and has told the club's chiefs to land the 26-year-old at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has however responded that the deal for Lacazette to move to the Premier League will soon be completed.
“The first offer transmitted by Arsenal was 45m euros, but the transfer will be on a range between 45 and 50m euros.
“Being close to 50m is something unique, and will probably be a record for Arsenal and Olympique Lyonnais as well. Traditionally, a club like Arsenal do not invest as much on a player.” he said.
Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 appearances last season and will give Arsenal’s front-line a major boost.
His arrival could probably end the stay of Frenchman Olivier Giroud's stay at the Emirates Stadium.
