Oscar banned for mammoth eight games after inciting China brawl

- Former Chelsea star Oscar has been banned for eight games in China

- He started a brawl in a league match that involved 50 players

- FIFA was consulted before he was banned by the Chinese FA

- The Brazilian will not play for Shanghai SIPG until August

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has handed former Chelsea midfielder Oscar an eight game ban for inciting a brawl in a league match.

Oscar kicked a ball on two players in Shanghai SIPG's 1 - 1 draw with Guangzhou R&F on Sunday.

The 25-year-old's actions resulted in a fight on the pitch between both sets of teams.

Oscar will not play in the Chinese Super Legue until August. He was also handed a $5,000 fine from the FA.

The CFA consulted FIFA following a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday which Oscar did not attend.

The Brazilian has made 21 appearances for his club, scoring four goals and providing 10 assists.
