- Diego Maradona would love to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on the same team
- The football legend says he still prefers Messi but would love to see Ronaldo play with him
- Messi has won the Olympics, U-20 World Cup, reached 3 Copa America finals with his country
Football legend Diego Maradona says Argentina would have a better team if Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi played for the national team together.
The Napoli legend praised the Real Madrid man while maintaining his preference for Lionel Messi.
He however says he would have liked to see Ronaldo line up alongside his greatest rival Messi for Argentina's national side.
"Cristiano is an animal," Maradona told TyC Sports. "I wish he was Argentine.
"But I still prefer Messi. He is enjoying playing football and goes by opponents with ease."
Messi has won the Olympics, U-20 World Cup and reached three Copa America finals with his country but is yet to win the World Cup.
"Leo cannot deliver the World Cup on his own," Maradona added. "Even if he does not win a World Cup, we will still remember him."
