- It has been widely said that the 32-year-old forward wants a return to Man Utd
Spanish and European champions Real Madrid have finally told Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo that he is free to leave the club this summer.
The club's president Florentino Perez made the disclosure while responding to Ronaldo's future next season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But Perez who has just been re-elected as Real Madrid boss for the fifth time explained that any club interested in the former Manchester United star will have to pay his release sum of £880 million for Ronaldo to leave the Spanish club.
“I haven’t spoken to Cristiano since the Champions League final, but I heard the rumors through the media.
“But, his contract is £880m and unless a club is ready to pay that, he won’t be leaving.” Perez explained.
Ronaldo is said to be interested in a return to Premier League club Manchester United, but it is not yet clear if the Red Devils will be able to pay this mega amount to land the 32-year-old.
