- Nigerian international Kenneth Omeruo wants to stay at Chelsea
- But the defender wants a regular play time next season
- It is not yet clear if he is part of Antonio Conte's plan for next term
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has explained that he will not stay at Premier League champions Chelsea in the 2017/18 League season unless the Blues will give him regular game time.
The 23-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig club Alanyaspor - making 26 league appearances for the club.
He is now set to start the preseason campaign with the Premier League champions, and the Nigerian international has made his intention known.
"For now, I’m a Chelsea player. I’ve only been out on loan.
"Now that my loan period at Alanyaspor is over, I will be returning to Chelsea for our preseason.
“No decision has been made if I’m still going out on loan or staying at Chelsea," he added. The important thing for me is that I’m still playing regularly.
“If I will have to stay at Chelsea and not be playing games, then I won’t stay, that is it for now." Omeruo stated.
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may want to give Omeruo the chance for him to replace former captain John Terry who has left the club.
