Premier League campaigners Manchester United will this Wednesday night, May 24, 2017 face Ajax in the final of the 2017 Europa League which will be played in Stockholm.
The Red Devils will go into this tie with the aim of winning the title which will be an automatic ticket of qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League having finished as sixth best at the just concluded Premier League season.
United manager Jose Mourinho will have it at the back of his mind that the Red Devils have never won the Europa League title in their history as the face a more determined Dutch side who also have not played in a European final since 1996.
On paper, Manchester United are favorite to win this title considering their experience in European competition, but Ajax coach Peter Bosz is optimistic that his young side can defeat the Red Devils.
"We only have a chance of beating Manchester United if we play our own game which we have developed this season and which I like to call the Ajax way of playing." he said.
Manchester United will be without defender Eric Bailly who is suspended after his red card in the semi-final win over Celta Vigo.
Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored four goals against England in the first game at the Friends Arena in 2012 and will have a statue built outside the ground and will not play.
Ajax on the other hand who finished in second in the Dutch Eredivisie have left-back Nick Viergever banned, while Lasse Schone is expected to be the only player over the age of 25 in their starting XI.
