Premier League champions Chelsea on Sunday, May 21, 2017 defeated Sunderland 5-1 in their last Premier League match of the season.
Chelsea who have already won the League title conceded the first goal in the 3rd minute when Javier Manquillo scored for already relegated Sunderland.
But Willian restored the parity for the champions in the 8th minute after connecting well with a superb cross from Nigerian international Victor Moses.
Belgian international Eden Hazard netted the second goal for the Blues in the 61st minute before Pedro Rodriguez scored in the 78th minute. Michy Batshbayi scored twice at the death to condemned Sunderland to a 5-1 defeat.
It what could be described as an emotional moment, thousands of Chelsea faithfuls bid emotional farewell to captain John Terry who will leave after 22-years-of active service for the Stamford Bridge side.
The 36-year-old Englishman is the Blues' most decorated player having won five Premier Leagues, five FA Cups, a Europa League and three League Cups.
Chelsea won the league with 93 points; Tottenham and Manchester City are second and third with 86 and 78 points respectively.
Arsenal who defeated Everton 3-1 on the final day however conceded the fourth spot to Liverpool who thrashed Middlebrough 3-0 on the final match day.
The Gunners ended the season with 75 points while Liverpool finished with 76.
