Reports in Germany claim Arsenal have signed Schalke 04 left-back Sead Kolašinac on a five-year deal.
NAIJ.com understands that the 23-year-old's contract with the German club runs out at the end of the season and becomes a free agent on June 30.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates over the last few months and at one point it was claimed he had passed a medical for the Gunners.
Other clubs interested in his services are Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City but Arsenal seem to have won the race for his signature.
Raphael Wiesweg, a journalist who covers Schalke, tweeted: “The output of @seadk6 is fixed. Sead #Kolasinac has signed a 5-year contract at @Arsenal . #S04 #Schalke”.
Also Calciomercato writer Matteo Pedrosi also claimed Kolasinac has agreed a move Arsenal, tweeting: “Done deal: Sead #Kolasinac has signed a 5-year contract with @Arsenal.”
Arsene Wenger was asked about Kolasinac after the report but said: “We can deny that story at the moment. Nothing has been concluded with anybody.
“I think it is important we do not talk about transfers.”
The signing could leave the futures of current Arsenal left-backs Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs in doubt.
