- A lack of playing time could force kelechi Iheanacho to join German side Hoffenheim
- The Super Eagles star is behind Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero in the pecking order
- Hoffenheim will compete in the Champions League next season after securing a top four finish
Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has been linked with a move to German side Hoffenheim who will compete in the Chmapions League next season.
The Nigerian has fallen down the striker order at the Etihad this season following the arrival of Pep Guardiola last summer.
With Gabriel Jesus now fit, Iheanacho has pushed even further down the pecking order.
Guardiola has praised Iheanacho‘s commitment and work rate during training — but is unsure the youngster fits his style of play.
There is however a solution with Hoffenheim who will play in the Champions League next season looking to sign the player on loan.
This season, Iheanacho scored in defeats to Tottenham and both in the 4-2 loss at Southampton.
This season, he scored the winner in the Manchester derby earlier in the season as City beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford.
However with Sergio Aguero showing world class form each week and Jesus’ incredible start to life at the Etihad, Iheanacho has hardly ever had a look in.
