Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, has congratulated the new boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
He did this during a light hearted session of the Holy Communion service of the May 2017 Holy Ghost Service tagged "ABBA Father part 4".
According to him "that's why I congratulate that boy Joshua. Not only because he is a Nigerian, or because I myself used to be a boxer, but he has helped me to remind the world that pounded yam is better than rice and Eba is better than indomie and spag."
Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that Joshua credited Nigerian dishes for his recent successes in the boxing ring.
Joshua while responding to some questions about his mother land, Nigeria, disclosed that eating Pounded Yam, Eba and Egusi has been the secret of success.
On Saturday, April 29, Joshua, 27, retained the IBF World Heavyweight Championship and remained undefeated as a professional with 19 victories after a victory over Wladimir Klitschko.
The bout which made history as one of the biggest fight nights in boxing history drew a record post-war British boxing crowd of 90,000 at Wembley.
Joshua was born in Watford to a Nigerian mother and a British father of Nigerian and Irish descent.
