Italian giants Juventus have given themselves a good chance of qualifying for the final of this year's UEFA Champions League after beating Monaco 2-0 on Wednesday night, May 3, 2017 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final duel.
The visitors exemplified good display at the Stade Louis 11 Stadium as Monaco fans were disappointed with their players' performance, NAIJ.com reports.
Argentine international Gonzalo Higuain netted a brace as the visitors condemned the home side to a defeat in-front of their faithfuls.
Former Barcelona defender Daniel Alves delivered a powerful cross in the 29th minute for Higuain to score the first goal.
Monaco had a great chance to restore parity in the 37th minute when Kylian Mbappe was set up one-on-one with Italian goalie Buffon, but the Frenchman failed to score.
Daniel Alves made another great cross in the 59th minute for Higuain to score the second and winning goal for Juventus. It ended; Monaco 0 -2 Juventus.
In the first semi-final on Tuesday night, May 2, 2017 Spanish side Real Madrid were also impressive as they thrashed Atletico Madrid in their own first semi-final duel.
