Mesut Ozil is demanding a mouthwatering £300,000-a -eek deal to stay at the Emirates as his contract expires in the 2017/18 season.
The 28-year-old is currently Arsenal's highest earner as he collects £140,000-per-week since his move from Real Madrid in 2013.
The Gunners are offering him an extension deal worth around £250,000-a-week, but are reluctant to increase the amount over concerns about the player's commitment.
The German believes he deserves more than what the club is offering and talks concerning the deal are set to continue at the end of the season.
The midfielder has been heavily criticized about his poor run of form this season which he recently displayed in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat against Tottenham.
Arsenal are currently 6th on the Premier League table and they are set to miss out on Champions League next season with four games to go.
