Chelsea are on the verge of signing Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk for a record fee of £50million.
The Blues are ready to include Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen who is currently on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach in the deal for the Dutch defender.
Arsenal are set to miss out on Dijk's signature despite offering him a mouth-watering £150,000 a week deal, but the defender is bent on a move to Stamford Bridge.
NAIJ.com reports that the 25-year-old is nursing an ankle injury which he sustained in January and he is set to miss the rest of the season.
He has been one of the exceptional players for the Saints since his move from Celtic in 2015.
Antonio Conte will be looking to replace club captain John Terry after the defender announced that he will be departing from the club at the end of the season.
