The club captain drank Stella lager at the Marlborough Arms, Chester and he was doing this while wife Coleen was abroad.

Wazza drank at least five pints of strong lager hours after arriving at the bar late on Sunday night with friends and after tweeting how he was preparing for the vital Manchester derby.

An onlooker said: “He sank quite a few pints of Stella — at least five. That’s a considerable amount for a professional footballer.”

The striker played for United on Sunday, scoring a penalty to put them ahead against Swansea though the Red Devils would eventually draw the match.

NAIJ.com understands that United boss Jose Mourinho has already warned Rooney about his drinking habits in the pasts and this latest episode could land the £300,000-a-week player in trouble.

Those at the pub who spoke with the Sun claim the striker was seated with friends who went to the bar for him and ensured fans kept their distance.

Despite chatting with the dark haired lady, the two are not believed to be involved in any wrongdoing as they both later left separately with pals.
