Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill is set to miss out on FA Cup semifinal tie against rivals Tottenham on 22 April 2017 due to illness, NAIJ.com reports.
The English centre-back has been in the hospital for two nights and will most likely be out of Wembley clash against Spurs on Saturday, April 22.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is considering John Terry as an option for the game against the Lilywhytes after he announced he will be leaving at end of the season just five days ago.
The 36-year-old has not played a Premier League game for Chelsea this season but was involved in their first three FA Cup games before being dropped for their crucial quarterfinal game against Manchester United
Terry could be included in the squad against Tottenham after Cahill was struck down by a mystery illness with Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake also on standby.
Cahill played for the Blues in their 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford but complained later of a rising temperature.
The Blues will battle Spurs in a crunch FA Cup semifinals on April 22 as they look to book their place in the finals to win their 8 FA Cup title.
