- Ranieri who has been out of job since February could make a return to the EPL if Mazzarri is sacked at Watford
Former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has been tipped to replace Watford’s Walter Mazzarri at the end of the current English Premier League season.
The Watford manager has been faced with heavy criticisms despite being able to keep his side in the English top flight.
NAIJ.com confirms that Gino Pozzo, the owner of the Hornets, is not convinced with his team’s performance since about a year ago.
There are reports that Premier League winner Ranieri could be brought-in as Pozzo is said to be contemplating the sack of Mazzarri at the end of the season.
Recall Premier League champions Leicester City fired their Italian manager Ranieri on February 23, nine months after the Italian guided them to their first ever league title.
Ranieri, appointed City manager in July 2015, led Leicester City to the greatest triumph in the Club’s 133-year history last season, as the Foxes were crowned champions of England for the first time.
He is the favourite to take the Watford top job.
