Arsenal's highest goal scorer ever Theirry henry might have to wait a few more years to rejoin the club as a coach after an attempt to do that was blocked by Arsene Wenger.

According to the Mirror, the Frenchman rejected a boardroom move to install his country man in the coaching staff until the end of the season.

The club is in need for a dressing room lift as they face the prospect of missing out on a top-four finish and Champions League football and Josh believes Henry is the man who can do that.

Henry is currently an assistant to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national side and a Sky Sports pundit.

NAIJ.com understands that the influential Sky Sports wouldn’t stand in Henry’s way if Wenger said yes.

However the Mirror says Wenger is determined to carry on doing things his way and has not been receptive to Kroenke Jr’s suggestion.

Wenger and Henry have not been on the same page on a lot of matters since the latter's retirement from the game and becoming a pundit.

The Arsenal boss blocked Henry from taking on the role of the club’s Under-18s coach despite the Gunner's great offering to work for free.

The Gunners great also asked Wenger allow him work with the club's strikers but he was snubbed as rumours circulate that Wenger sees Henry as a threat to his job.

Many also questioned why Patrick Vieira was allowed to move to Manchester City to take a coaching role before leaving for New York City FC.
