Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Alloy Agu who was known for his superb saves during his playing days has lost his mother Patricia Agu.
NAIJ.com understands that the octogenarian passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at about 4 pm after a brief illness.
Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye confirmed the demise of Alloy Agu's mother while speaking with NAIJ.com Sports.
''Yes, Alloy Ahu has lost his mother, and it was a sad one for all of us in the Super Eagles and the date for the burial will soon be announced,'' Ibitoye explained.
During his playing career, Agu represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the former Soviet Union (now Russia) where the Flying Eagles finished third.
With the senior national team, Agu was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.
He was also part of the Eagles team to the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States of America.
