Cristiano Ronaldo scored as Portugal lost to Sweden to take his goal tally for his country to 71 and including himself as one of the top 10 international goalscorers of all-time.

The 32-year-old scored his 69th and 70th international goals in the 3-0 defeat of Hungary on Saturday, and added his 71st goal against the Scadenavian team.

NAIJ.com notes that Ronaldo opened the scoring in the game at the Estádio dos Barreiros when he slotted past goalkeeper Karl Johnsson in the 18th minute.

The goal puts Ronaldo joint-ninth in the all-time rankings, alongside Germany’s Miroslav Klose, Saudi Arabia’s Majed Abdullah, Malawi’s Kinnah Phiri and Thailand’s Kiatsuk Senamuang who all havge 71 goals.

Ronaldo also becomes the joint-third highest European international goalscorer in history with only Hungary’s Sandor Kocsis (75) and Ferenc Puskas (84) having scored more.

Portugal took the lead on the night and doubled it through an Andreas Granqvist own goal however the secong half saw a Viktor Claesson's double a late own goal from Cavaco Cancelo allow Janne Andersson's side to leave victorious.
