Lincoln City defender Bradley Wood has reportedly threatened to smash Arsenal star striker Alexis Sanchez when his side face the Gunners in their FA Cup quarter-final duel on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Emirates stadium.
The National League table toppers are the first non-Football League side to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup since 1914 and they want to pull a surprise result against embattled Arsenal side.
Wood said he is prepared for the threat of the Chile international and he is set to take an aggressive approach when it comes to keeping the winger at bay.
"I'm a human being and he's a human being, that's all it is. We're two guys who could be going against each other over 90 or 120 minutes.
"There are many ways to skin a cat and by hook or crook that's what I'll try to do to him. If he tries to run me in the channels then I'm smashing him!
"That's not to say that I'm going to boot him 24/7 but if I manage to keep him quiet then I'll have done a good job. It'll be the same on the left side with Sam Habergham and in the center with Luke Waterfall and Sean Raggett.
"We're coming up against world class players who are better than us, we know that, but we've got a big, big heart and we're not going to be tourists on a stadium tour." Wood explained
Meanwhile a defeat in this tie for Arsenal will further compound the woe of Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger who has been attacked by the club's faithfuls to leave the club at the end of the season.
