Chelsea captain John Terry has explained the secret behind the Blues' sparkling form this season in the Premier League under Italian manager Antonio Conte.
Following their impressive 2-1 win at West Ham United on Monday, March 6, 2017 the Blues are now favorites to win the Premier League title at the end of the season.
Terry said his coach Antonio Conte turned the team to title favorites by turning them into long distance runners.
The 36-year-old Englishman who has been at Chelsea since he was 14 stressed that Antonio Conte's emphasis on fitness is totally different to the approaches of his predecessors like Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.
''In all my years playing for Chelsea, I have had Jose Mourinho, Ancelotti and Robbie di Matteo and I have never done the kind of running before. I mean proper running.
''Everything’s been with the ball. So in the past, under Mourinho, from day one pre-season, you get the balls out.
“But Conte has come in and from the start of pre-season we have done running. This is a group that hasn’t done that for seven, eight, nine years
“A shock? Yeah, it was a little bit yeah but after two, three weeks of doing it the lads were going, ‘Physically we feel much better,'' Terry explained
