Spartak Moscow defender Dmitri Kombarov took the odd step of renting a lion for his five-year-old daughter on her birthday.
In what is a bizzare way to celebrate, Kombarov rented a cub of the king of the jungle and posted pictures of his daughter with it on social media.
Kombarov's daughter Ulyana can be seen playing happily with the little big cat.
Kombarov said on Instagram: "My beloved daughter, today is your fifth anniversary. Your mother and I love you more than life."
According to the Sun, the elite in Russia have made it a habit in recent years to rent big cats
The going rate to hire them for parties is about 10,000 RUB (£139/N54,000) for an hour.
Komvarov started his career with Dynamo Moscow alongside his twin brother Kirill, who is now at Russian Premier League side Arsenal Tula.
Dmitri plays primarily as a left-back and has 41 caps for Russia. He played for his country at Euro 2016.
