The Premier League has given us some of the best footballers to have ever played football but did you know it also gave us some unlikely brotherly associations.
Here are 8 sets of brothers who played/have played in the Premier League;
1. Shola and Sammy Amoebi
The Nigerians became the first brothers to score in a competitive game in Newcastle United’s history. Shola is a Newcastle legend while Sammy still plays for Newcastle.
2. Phil and Gary Neveille
The Manchester United graduates have retired and are currently into media work. Both can be considered legends of Manchester United. Phil spent all of his career with the Red Devils and Everton (where he was captain for ten years) while Gary spent his at Man Utd.
3. Kolo and Yaya Toure
Kolo played for Arsenal, Manchester City and Livepool before joining Celtic who he currently turns our for while Yaya has played for Man City in the Premier League who he joined he 2010 from Barcelona.
4. Rio and Anton Ferdinand
Rio is a Premier League legend after turning out for West Ham, Manchester United and Leeds United while Anton built a reputable career as a defender for West Ham, QPR in the league.
5. Andre and Jordan Ayew
These two Ghanian stars currently play in the leage and have turned out for two teams each. Andre, a one-time third best footballer in Africa has played for Swansea and West Ham who he currently plays for while Jordan played for Aston Villa before her relegation and now Swansea City.
6. Jerome and Kevin-Prince Boateng
KPB played for Tottenham and Portsmouth as a youngster in the league before making a name for himself at AC Milan. Jerome joined City from Hamburg on 2011 but was not rated abd joined Bayern Munich where he has become world class and one of the best center-backs in the world.
7. Rafael and Fabio da Silva
The Brazilian twin Rafael & Fabio da Silva both began their careers with Fluminense in their native Brazil before being signed by English club Manchester United in February 2007.
Rafael plays for Lyon while Fabio is currently making a name for himself at Middlesbrough.
8. Xabi and Mikel Alonso
Mikel Alonso joined the then Premier League side Bolton Wanderers back in 2007 on a loan deal from Real Sociedad three years after his brother Xabi had already settled in England with Liverpool (having arrived during the summer of 2004).
