Premier League club Hull City have been hit with a blow after announcing that star player Ryan Mason has suffered a serious skull fracture injury in their clash with Chelsea on Sunday, January 22, 2017.
The 25-year-old midfielder who was treated for nine minutes on the pitch was later rushed to the hospital after colliding with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.
He was in coma after the clash and was taken to St Mary's Hospital and underwent emergency surgery.
''The club can confirm that Ryan Mason sustained a skull fracture in our fixture at Chelsea and was taken to St Mary's Hospital where he has undergone surgery. Ryan is in a stable condition and is expected to remain in hospital for the next few days.

''Everyone at the club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by the accident and emergency department and neurosurgery unit at St Mary's Hospital,'' the club said in a statement.
Meanwhile Chelsea who are the current Premier League leaders went on to win the encounter 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
