1. There are actually 16 teams
In the English Premier League, twenty teams are campaigning in the English top flight football, but in the Chinese Super League, only sixteen teams are in there and despite that clubs like Yanbian Funde, Henan Jianye, Liaoning Whowin, Changchun Yatai, Tianjin TEDA and others have tended to go under the radar in Europe.
2. There is one Englishman in the League
Born in London, Jack Sealy is the only Englishman that plays in the Chinese Super League, and he currently wears the jersey of Changchun Yatai as a right full back.
3. It began in 2004
The Chinese Super League is just 12-year old as it began in the year 2004, and is not some kind of brand new invention of the last couple of years off the back of the investment suddenly being pumped into football as the inaugural season was played in 2004 and was won by Shenzhen Jianlibao.
4. It is dominated by one club
Guangzhou Evergrande have been dominating the Chinese Super League in recent years as they have been champions six times on the spin since claiming their first title in 2011 and have even conquering Asia by winning the AFC Champions League in two of the last four years.
