After the inability of Nigeria to qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations billed for Gabon, Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has said he would never watch the championship regardless any reason.
The 30-year-old said he was disappointed by the fact that Nigeria who won the 2013 edition will not take part in the 2017 edition that will be hosted by Gabon.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper who replaced retired Vincent Enyeama as Nigeria's first choice said the main priority of all the Super Eagles players now is to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup billed for Russia.

''We didn't qualify this year which was a big disappointment and I'll try and avoid watching the Cup of Nations because we're not there.
'' Our focus is on the 2018 World Cup, and I am sure that we will qualify for the competition and make Nigerian fans happy again,'' Ikeme explained
Meanwhile, Nigeria are currently leading the 2018 FIFA Group B Africa World Cup qualifying zone with 6 points after two games played.
