The 2017 African Cup of Nations is fast approaching as the 31st edition of the most glamorous championship in Africa will be played in Gabon, and the tournament is expected to hold for three weeks.

Some Premier League clubs will lose a player or two for the duration of the competition, and here we bring you the teams that will be mostly affected when the showpiece begins on January 14, 2017.

1. West Ham United

The Hammers will be the most hit as the side will lose four of their top players.

The West Ham United players who are expected to fly to Gabon are Andre Ayew (Ghana), Sofiane Fehgouli (Algeria), Cheikhou Kouyate (Senegal) and Diafra Sakho (Senegal).

2. Sunderland

Sunderland coach David Moyes might be forced to go shopping as soon as the January transfer window. The club which is currently battling relegation will lose four of their regular players who are expected to participate in the 2017 AFCON.

Papy Djilobodji (Senegal), Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia), Lamine Kone (Ivory Coast) and Didier Ndong (Gabon) will all honour national calls for AFCON 2017.

3. Crystal Palace

Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha will be the biggest loss for Crystal Palace when the 2017 AFCON starts in Gabon, Kwesi Appiah (Ghana) and Bakary Sako (Mali) are the two other players going for the African Cup of Nations.

4. Leicester City

Leicester City are expected to miss the services of two Algerian players Islam Slimani and Riyad Mayrez to the 2017 AFCON.

5. Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp might 'walking alone' in January 2017 as Liverpool will be without impressive winger Sadio Mane who will represent Senegal at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

6. Watford

Nordin Amrabat of Morocco

Walter Mazzari might not find it rosy in January 2017 as the club will have to be without Nordin Amrabat (Morocco), Brice Dja-Djedje (Ivory Coast), and Adlene Guedioura (Algeria) who will all represent their respective countries at the 2017 AFCON.
