A 24-year-old man named Robert McNamara has been sent to 32 months in jail after attempting to burgle the house of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney on August 3, 2016.
The man who was said to be an ex-service man tried to break into the former Everton attacker's house on the day Rooney was playing his testimonial match at Old trafford and the CCTV in Wayne Rooney's house played a pivotal role in McNamara's arrest.
He has however pleaded guilty of the crime in October 2016 at Chester Crown Court, and he has been sent to two-years and eight months in jail.
Meanwhile, it was also stated that Wayne Rooney's wife has been having 'sleepless night' since the incident happened and has made the couple to spend more money on security.
The house in Prestbury, Cheshire was said to have cost the English international the sum of £6 million.
