- Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Benfica's Victor Lindelof
- Jorge Mendes and Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira will travel to Manchester
- Lindelof will act as cover for Eric Bailly who will travel for AFCON 2017 in January
Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Victor Lindelof after reports emerged that super agent Jorge Mendes and Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira are reportedly landing in Manchester today, Monday, December 19.
According to Portuguese paper O Jogo United will complete the signing of the Swedish defender for £38million.
Mendes is reportedly in Manchester to complete the deal for the 22-year-old who will join the Red Devils in the January transfer window.
Mourinho initially offered £34m with the rest of the fee in bonuses but the Portuguese side are not ready to bend.
United are currently without summer signing Eric Bailly, who is out with a knee injury, and want a new defender next month as the summer signing will soon be joining Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017.
Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo deputised well in central defence for United but an injury to either of them means the Potuguese will need reinforcements.
