Abba Kyari, the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has assured that the aggrieved super falcons will be paid by Friday, December 16.
The ladies who won the just concluded African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) have taken to the streets of Abuja where they marched with placards straight to the National Assembly in order to get the attention of the president who is expected at the Senate for the defence of the 2017 budget.
According to Aderonke Bello who led the protests, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is owing the players over N238 million and as a result, the ladies have vowed not to release the trophy which they won on the Cameroonian soil.
Although, the NFF was said to have paid the ladies N100,000 each upon their return from Cameroon and promising to get back to them, the team insisted they will remain at their Abuja hotel until they get fully paid.
Abba Kyari met with the protesting ladies today Wednesday, December 14, and has assured that the players will be settled in two days.
