Gernot Rohr who is the head coach of the Nigeria's men senior national team has explained that Sunderland forward Victor Anichebe will be part of the players to be invited next to the Super Eagles.
Since the year 2012, Victor Anichebe has been overlooked by the past Super Eagles handlers, but his superb performance this term for Sunderland in the Premier League has caught the attention of the Nigeria gaffer.
The German coach has now explained that he is ready to give an invitation to the former Everton forward in the year 2017.
''I am happy that Victor Anichebe is doing well in his club, and it is natural for us to call him up to the Super Eagles for our next game because of his impressive performance at his club,'' Rohr stated
Anichebe will now have to face serious competition upfront from Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho and Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi.
Meanwhile, the 63-year-old is however worried about the poor form of Watford striker Odion Ighalo who has fallen out of favor.
''Ighalo's situation is worrisome, but we need to back him up because he is one of our top player.''
