These 4 instances will tell you how arrogant Ronaldo is

Cristiano Ronaldo is seen by most critics as very arrogant and he has done little in the way of his words or body language to dispel that notion.

The fact that he has won over 30 major club and international honours should make him proud of his achievements but sometimes he just rubs it in peoples' faces.

Over the years there have been sportsmen who sounded arrogant; Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrogance has gained a cult following, while Muhammed Ali’s public boasts have become iconic.

Eric Cantona always called himself king but with Ronaldo it feels like he wants others to know he is above them.

Here are four times Cristiano Ronaldo showed us he was a very arrogant fella;

1. That time he compared himself to God

Following Real Madrid's 3 - 1 win over Real Soceided in December 2015 were he was booed by his own fans, Ronaldo claimed he was "made to be the best" and believes his vast success is partly down to his vanity and arrogance.

"There are people out there who hate me and who say I'm arrogant, vain and whatever. That's all part of my success. I am made to be the best," Ronaldo told Mundo Deportivo.

"We cannot live being obsessed with what other people think about us. It's impossible to live like that. Not even God managed to please the entire world.

"I have a clear conscience. I sleep well. I feel good helping others, regardless of whether that's with big things or small things. I look at life differently ever since I became a father.

"I can deal with the pressure because of the difficult life I have had. The person I am now is the result of the time I spent without my family and because of the difficult times I went through."

2. When he told us he was rich, handsome and a great player

In September 2011, Cristiano Ronaldo was booed by Dimano Zagreb fans in September 2011 in a Champions League clash and he gave this perfect response to his critics.

He said post-match: "I think that because I am rich, handsome and a great player people are envious of me. I don't have any other explanation. We are very happy with the three points we took, but I'm not so satisfied with the refereeing.

"I hope we never have this referee again. People talk of fair play, of protecting good players, but I never get any of that. I don't understand a thing. I'm sad because I hear referees saying they will protect skilful players, but while some are untouchable it seems I can be mauled."

3. When he Criticized his teammates despite playing poorly

In Febraury of 2016, Real Madrid were defeated 1 - 0 by rivals Atletico Madrid and Ronaldo blamed his teammates for the defeat.

Despite being guilty of missing the best chances of the game, Ronaldo picked the likes of Lucas Vazquez, Mateo Kovacic and Jese Rodriguez for criticism.

Madrid were without the likes of Marcelo, Pepe and Gareth Bale while Karim Benzema was forced off with a hip injury at half-time of the game.

“If we were all at my level maybe we would be leaders,” he told reporters after the game. “I don’t want to disrespect anyone, but when the best players aren’t available it’s harder to win.

"I like to play with Karim, with Bale, with Marcelo. I’m not saying the others like Lucas (Vazquez), Jese and (Mateo) Kovacic are not good players – they are very good players – but it’s not the same.

“I don’t know if it was poor preparation in the first half of the season but we’re having a lot of injuries and that hurts us.”

4. That time he built himself a museum

Ok, we know you won many titles; team and individual but does having a museum in your name really make sense. Well in case you are in doubt, Ronaldo has a museum where he keeps memorabilia of his achievements.

The museum contains some of Ronaldo's greatest prizes, including Champions League, La Liga and Premier League medals.

It is located near the bronze statue of Ronaldo in Funchal’s Plaza del Mar and close to his new CR7 hotel - the first of four to be built worldwide.
